Near the top of my list of soft skills for designers to learn is how to read a room. This phrase of “reading a room” isn’t just for stand up comics. Designers will find themselves over and over again presenting to a room of non-designers. It is your responsibility to guide the conversation down the path of ‘correct process’.
In today’s rant, I’ve outlined a couple of scenarios we might find ourselves in and how to navigate them. I round off the topic with a quick pro-tip that anyone can use for validating feedback.
